i noticed there's a few ppl's journals i read but i dont really talk to. it's almost like i know them because i know what's going on with their lives and what they think of certain situations but at the same time i technically dont know them. i mean i'll check it on a regular basis but when i see them online, i dont IM them to talk... i might not even have their sns... or phone numbers. funny thing is for the ppl i do talk on a regular basis online, i dont see too often.. and some, if not most, of them live in the same city.

isnt it weird? has internet actually connect ppl or made them further apart?

I think the internet helps you connect with people near and far, but I think it also distances people. Instead of chatting on the phone or maybe meeting up in person to catch up, one can just type on a computer. There's no real face-to-face interaction. I like the internet because it helps me keep in touch with people better (IM, email).., and I can do it at any time of the day, but I wonder, if I didn't have the internet, would I be more likely to keep in touch with people face-to-face? Can you have a quality relationship with someone over the computer, or is it better to do it face-to-face? Rhetorical questions. I'm asking what you're asking, too.

It alienates real relationships with friends and family, but increases your out of state booty calls.

dude, ur such a stalker! LOL

i actuality, i do the same thing. i read some people's journal even tho i don't know them. maybe out of convenience since i get those lovely xanga daily blogs sent to me. on occasion, i leave them a few pearls of wisdom. i like to think that, even tho i could be half way aroudn the world, or be a general complete stranger altogether, that somehow i am able to control these individuals through my blog comments.

okay, that'd be all for now.

hey e, now go buy me some candy and hook me up w/ some girls. yes, that means u need to find / meet / stalk girls from the boston area and then introduce them to me.

Maybe you read this or maybe not...
a story came out last week about Americans and their lack of close friends and family. My thoughts were that technology has played a big part in a bad way keeping friends from going out and socializing not only with your friends, but also socializing with new people you meet on the streets.
Why go to a movie theater when you have a 45in screen TV at home? Why meet for lunch when you can just chat on your cell phone? Why go out at night and with your friends when you can all just join a chat room?
I am not saying that any of these things are BAD, only that their is something different and more personal about being in front of the person talking enjoying the conversation and environment around you.
Yes, i know my ideology on this subject has no scientific proof, only gut instinct or intuition.
