what i learned from little mermaid

i requested to watch little mermaid yesterday while i was hanging out at a friend's house. the guys were gentlemen and obliged lol

watching it as a grown up, i realized three things:
1. ariel is a spoiled rebel teenager lol she has "everything and still wants more"
2. the song "poor unfortunate souls" tell little girls that in order to get a man, you have to shut your mouth LOL all you need is a pretty face and body language lol

Yes on land it's much preferred for ladies not to say a word
And after all dear, what is idle prattle for?
They're not all that impressed with conversation
True gentlemen avoid it when they can
But they dote and swoon and fawn
On ladies who withdrawn
It's she who holds her tongue who gets a man

3. they give kids the idea that you can fall in love in 3 days lol

and now i have "poor unfortunate souls" suck in my head. so here it is so you can hear it too LOL i love disney classic songs. i'm listening to them on imeem LOL (belle is playing right now lol)

Tastes can be effected by trends. If a major movie teaches these things, they may become accepted by the majority, which makes it a rule of society. Guys will begin to believe they prefer women who don't speak much and blah blah blah.

Is she really a bitch or is she simply disenfranchised as a result of being marginalized by society for her weight and appearance? I'm sure if she looked like Ariel she'd be happy and friendly as a peach.
